Motorcycle Engine Treatment Ratios

***NOTE: Read through the entire instruction sheet before installing any Microlon Products.

To Install the Microlon Products-

  1. Bring the engine to operating temperature.

  2. Shake Well. Shake Well. Shake Well.
Shake Microlon products thoroughly before adding to an engine. The Microlon resin is held in suspension only after being shaken up from the bottom of the can.

  3. Add Microlon Engine Treatment to the crankcase.
Microlon Engine Treatment treats the bottom of your engine through the oil. Turn the engine off and add the amount of treatment appropriate to the size of the engine being treated. The chart below will inform you as to the correct amount of engine treatment to be used. Be sure to use the full amount indicated.

  4. Add Microlon Fuel Treatment to the fuel intake.
MicroIon Fuel System Treatment cleans and conditions the top of your engine through the fuel system. Make sure to shake the Fuel System Treatment well before adding to the fuel tank. Add the amount of treatment appropriate to the size of the engine being treated. The chart below will inform you as to the correct amount of fuel system treatment to be used.

  5. Operate the vehicle.
Immediately after adding the Engine and Fuel System Treatments to your engine, it is essential that you operate your vehicle under normal driving conditions for approximately 2 hours. This will give the cleaning agents and solvents sufficient time to clean your engine and dissipate, while allowing the resin to travel through the engine to where it is needed.

  6. Drain the oil.
After completing the specified driving time turn off the engine and drain the oil. This will remove the carbon deposits, sludge, scale, rust, and other impurities from the engine metal, leaving a partial treatment of Microlon.

  7. Add fresh oil and Microlon Compound 90 to the crankcase.
Compound 90 contains the same resins found in MicroIon Engine Treatment but none of the solvents and cleaners. Add fresh oil to the crankcase omitting enough to accommodate the amount of Compound-90 you will be adding. The chart below will inform you as to the correct amount of Compound-90 to be used. Be sure to use the full amount indicated.

  8. Operate the vehicle.
Immediately after adding the Compound-90 to your engine, it is essential that you operate your vehicle under normal driving conditions for approximately 1 hour. This will give the engine ample time to travel through the engine to where it is needed. Leave the Compound-90 in the system until your next regularly scheduled oil change.

***NOTE: Microlon is compatible with all 2-Stroke oils including synthetics. Only add Microlon to a mixed fuel container or to the fuel tank. DO NOT add to oil injection tanks.

***NOTE: If your motorcycle has been unused for some time, it is recommended that the engine is run to check for seal leaks. Long-term storage may cause seals to become brittle and dry and can lead to cracks and leaks. Any leaks found should be repaired prior to Microlon treatment.
